Welcome to Vallivue Middle School.

On behalf of the faculty and staff, welcome to the 2019-20 school year! I am incredibly honored and excited to serve in my first year as the new principal for Vallivue Middle School.  After serving four years at Vallivue High School as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director, I look forward to working with the staff, students and families of the VMS community to implement the mission and vision of our school and district.

We have a tremendous staff at Vallivue Middle School, who is committed to preparing each individual for success now and in the future.  This is accomplished through our focus on creating an academically rigorous learning environment that promotes college and career goals through a standards-based curriculum and student-centered interaction. VMS is an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) school and we are working to become a national demonstration school.  The use of AVID strategies in the classroom is a key factor in the success of many of our students.

At VMS, we believe in skill-based, hands-on, brain-based lessons and activities. We model and encourage a "growth mindset" in which students are challenged to take on new learning opportunities and overcome obstacles through hard work and perseverance. We are committed to providing students with the skills necessary to enter high school and graduate with the skills to successfully complete college or professional technical training. Through high standards and expectations, our goal is help our students learn how to think critically.

We appreciate the support of our community and we look forward to working with our students this year.

Sincerely,

Todd Zucker, Principal
